	Led by guitarist and composer Jason Newsom, Anomalous Quintet is based in Portland, Oregon and has completed three albums, Quintessence, Life on an Oblate Spheroid, and Simple Forms. Jazzreview.com has said that Anomalous Quintet "Pushes the envelope of jazz to the hilt" and has described their songs as “fresh and innovative,” and Jazznow.com called their music “luxuriant.” Current members, Michael York on tenor sax, Daniel Covrett on baritone sax, Arcellus Sykes on bass, Ronnie LaGrone on drums, individually have performed or recorded with artists such as the Temptations, Lou Rawls, The Four Tops, Fred Wesley, Cee Cee James, Chris Barron, Kenny Rogers, the Del Vikings, Mel Brown, Janice Scroggins, and Thara Memory.
